Let me introduce Baekje Butcher Shop, a fantastic beef restaurant located in Jongno 5-ga, Seoul. While all their menu items are delicious, their yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef) is particularly outstanding. It’s incredibly tender and melts in your mouth.

We visited Baekje Butcher Shop for a family gathering after making a reservation in advance. The place is quite popular, even among tourists, and it seems there’s often a waiting line. During lunchtime, every table was occupied.
Since we had a reservation, we were directed to the annex building across from the main restaurant. The annex has a different name displayed, “Baekje Meat House.” It seems to cater primarily to reserved or group diners.
We ordered raw beef liver and tripe (gancheonyup), sirloin, assorted cuts, and yukhoe. Personally, I found the yukhoe absolutely delightful. The sirloin and assorted cuts were of high quality, comparable to any premium Korean beef, but the yukhoe here was something special. It was tender, flavorful, and truly exceptional compared to other places.
After enjoying the meat, we finished our meal with yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef bibimbap). What surprised us the most was the generous portion of yukhoe in the dish. It was practically half rice and half raw beef! The yukhoe was so tender and flavorful that even kids loved it and ate it without hesitation.
