[Korean Ramen Review, K-Ramen] Have You Tried Shin Ramyun Tumba?

Creamy Spicy Pasta Meets Shin Ramyun

“Ttowoomba Pasta” is a creamy spaghetti dish enhanced with the spicy flavor of chili peppers, resulting in a deliciously rich and spicy fusion. Inspired by this, “Shin Ramyun Tumba” was created. For a while, there was a trend of making creamy, spicy Shin Ramyun at home by adding ingredients like milk, cheese, shrimp, and bacon. To make this flavor more accessible, Nongshim introduced “Shin Ramyun Tumba,” bringing this unique twist to instant ramen lovers.

Although it’s been a few months since its release, many people still haven’t tried it. Let’s dive into what Shin Ramyun Tumba is all about!

How to Cook It

The cooking method is very straightforward and similar to preparing instant black bean noodles (like Chapagetti):

Boil 600ml of water and cook the noodles for 3 minutes.

Drain the noodles, leaving about 8 tablespoons of water for a saucy texture.

Add the liquid seasoning and powdered mix, then stir well.

The liquid seasoning provides a spicy kick, while the powdered mix gives a creamy, cheesy flavor. For an upgraded experience, you can add shrimp, bacon, broccoli, or any other toppings you like!

Taste Review

The flavor is best described as a dry version of Shin Ramyun, combined with the richness of cream and cheese. It’s spicy yet indulgent—just as the package describes it: “spicy and creamy.”

At first, the spiciness feels mild, but as you finish the dish, you’ll notice a warm, lingering heat that might make you reach for a glass of water. It’s much less spicy than Buldak Ramen, making it a great choice for those who prefer a milder heat but still enjoy a little spice.

There’s also a cup noodle version available, making it an excellent option for a quick snack or a late-night treat.

If you’re a fan of bold flavors and curious about a new twist on Korean ramen, Shin Ramyun Tumba is definitely worth trying!
